Those little green dots on there are painters tape, thats where my coat hooks will go.
One more shot of where the pine cove meets with the molding, separating it from the baseboard.
Here I add some storage. I originally bought the storage tower in the back at Walmart ($30!) as a bench, but once I got it home I realized it was too large for the little closet. So was reallocated as standing storage.
Which means, I really need a bench!
With cost in mind I decide to make one. The details of that assembly are here, and for the aged / weather appearance read this article. With out the how, I’ll just say that I used all scrap pieces from my wood pile to make it and only bought 2 hairpin legs. Hairpin legs are gorgeous, but these were $17 each and I wasn’t buying four! so I retrofit the bench into the molding for back support.
I think it looks fab!
So far, Thats my little mudroom. The kids are already using it and it’s made a BIG difference in Shoe and backpack storage. Once winter hits it’s going to be a life saver with all the winter gear!
